Interesting stuff here. The issue of safety of protesters from people other than the police or other "powers at be" is something I haven't really thought about before. They may not be there to "be comfortable," but they definitely should made sure that people are safe.
I'm actually surprised the mainstream media hasn't gotten ahold of this and torn occupy apart, arguing that it just puts the people themselves at risk. One reason may be that they don't really care too much about the occupier's health/safety, but their own convenience and what occupy is doing to disrupt their lifestyles.
